Ramadan Day #2

Asalam Alaykum! Good evening!

Another boring day Subhan Allah, weekend posts by the way are going to be pretty lowkey. Well thats not true next weekend I have plans to go and volunteer Saturday and Sunday. Tomorrow I have the day off but I am also volunteering so hopefully I can have more to share.

The thing is its what I'm used to do doing on weekends : nothing. You can relate if you also have a full time job during the day and also attend college classes at night during the week. Weekends you are so tired you want to do absolutely nothing but watch Netflix and YouTube and kick it back with some snacks.

Which is basically what I did, minus the snacks haha.

I mean technically its not wrong to do nothing the whole day while fasting (although make sure you at least pray which I did but prayed Asr late) but its not the point of fasting. We become closer to God but not only abstaining from food and drink and bad deeds but by increasing our worship. Which means more reading of the Quran and praising God by saying things like Alhumdilah (All thanks to God) and Allahu Akbar (God is Greater).

I didn't end up doing any extra worship which once again makes me feel guilty and like I need to be doing more.

I tried cleaning my room and didn't even finish that, I just gave up halfway through!

Although I am inspired by my friend who had invited me over for Iftar yesterday (May God reward her) who had a written out on a piece of paper goals during Ramadan on her dresser as well as a sticky note on her closet next to where she prays, so after she prays the reminder is right there for her to see.

It was written in a format like this:
    Quran:
    Dua:
    Charity:
    Prayer:
    Deeds:
And after each part written a goal for each area. This is a really good idea which I plan to follow MashAllah! I hope you find it beneficial as well! Thanks to my friend for the idea.

I ended up breaking my fast alone but I will have to often so its nothing new. It is nice though when you have others to break your fast with, it brings you closer you know?

Anyways hopefully tomorrow's post is a lot more interesting than todays! Thank you to everyone that read! Share any Ramadan tips you have!

Until next time...
