New Year , Better You!

Goals for 2019:



You know I feel like we all make New Years resolutions and then break them and feel like we can’t continue them if we don’t start them off right. My New Years I was on a plane / sleeping in an airport / trying to survive the long journey home . So there was really no excitement towards the new year coming , I was in survival / exhaustion mode. The first day of the New Year I spent it sleeping all day because of her lag and falling sick. Alhumdilah though every experience whether good or bad makes us stronger in some way.

How was your New Years? What are some goals you have for 2019? What can you do to stay on track of your goals ?

I don’t have high expectations of staying in top of goals since I’m not the best with consistency but I want to start more with personality growth and how I treat others more than fitness or health goals (I still have goals for these areas just won’t put too much pressure on myself). Don’t get me wrong definitely set health and fitness goals for yourself ! But try to break those goals up into smaller steps so you can help yourself achieve them. Like make sure it’s specific and measurable and you have people to motivate you and keep you on track. Like for me I want to eat better and avoid sugar and junk, which starts with making good choices when grocery shopping and limiting in social gathering the tempting bad for you foods. Also in terms of fitness to get myself walking and more active, which is tough but if you have an end goal of wanting to loose weight or tone up or even gain weight you can do it ! Set yourself reminders , track your habits and progress and get buddies to cheer you on or do it alongside with you. 

What are your goals for personal growth ? What bad habits do you want to kick ? How can you encourage yourself to stop these habits ?

In terms of personal growth , I know I’ve come a long way to be who I am today , my emotions I’m better able to control (sometimes) and I’m learning through my spirituality and faith to rely on God alone to provide for me and be there for me in times of need . Especially when you are surrounded by others and you feel empty and alone inside , to call upon the One that creates you to fill your soul with peace and serenity. Sometimes you don’t realize who people truly are until you experience certain situations with them and sometimes it’s best to not cut off the person but to protect your heart and emotional and mental state , to keep a distance. You want to surround yourself with people who uplift you and don’t give you negative energy or cause you harm. 

Likewise , if you haven’t been treating others with kindness and mercy , it’s probably time to start changing your attitude around. For me personally I want to practice having more patience and being less annoying about certain things. To listen more to what others have to say , interrupt less and be more understanding and compassionate , look at peoples perspectives to understand their feelings and point of view. To not be quiet when I’m unhappy about something and express myself in a healthy way without being angry or upset. To overall communicate better and appreciate the ones I love.

What is something you want to do better with in how you treat others ? How can you accomplish this ?
